After the birth of his son Atlas, Christopher Anderson turned away from war photography and turned his camera to intimately capture family life, publishing the photo book "Son" (Kehrer Verlag) in 2013. This book is a beautifully reborn new edition, adding a new 80-page second chapter to the story depicting the relationship between father and son to date. In addition to the original images included in "Son" (Kehrer Verlag, 2013), 40 previously unreleased works are included.

"These photographs are an organic response to the most unique and yet most universal experience: the birth of a child. While I was feeling the joy of the birth of new life, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer. You could say that I began to think about the obvious themes of life and death. Through my son, my role as a son took on new meaning, and my senses became sensitive to the evidence of my life passing. And these photographs were made by chance. These photographs are a record of love and a reflection on the nature of milestones in life."
